IISC students from the University of Iowa Urban and Regional Planning graduate program traveled to ECIA and presented their research and goals for the Prosperity Eastern Iowa (PEI) project. The student team of four are all members of PEI’s board. Some of the students next steps include surveys, interviews, and focus groups from participating Petal Project businesses/organizations and other stakeholders and comparative analyses of successful sustainability and ‘green’ programs; literature reviews for impact of sustainable business leadership on workforce, consumers, and environment. The students also stayed for the strategic planning meeting, done once every five years attended by representatives from all areas of the Petal Project, to gain understanding of PEI’s future direction.
